The seminars will cover a range of topics, including the history and significance of the Vyshyvanka, the techniques and materials used in embroidery, the different styles and designs of the garment, and most importantly the spirit of Vyshyvanka.

“The spirit of Vyshyvanka, the traditional Ukrainian embroidered shirt, is rooted in Ukrainian culture, but the love and strength it represents is a universal gift for all of humanity,” said Shivpreet Singh Kapoor, founder of DhunAnand Foundation. “We are looking forward to partnering with the World Vyshyvanka Day to help artists inspire a diverse group of people. We envision that these webinars will provide a platform for cross-cultural dialogue, collaboration and understanding. With quarterly seminars our aim is to share the spirit of Vyshyvanka throughout the year.”

They will feature experts and artists from diverse backgrounds, including artists, musicians, journalists, activists, historians, fashion designers, and embroidery artists.

"We are pleased to work with DhunAnand to spread the spirit of Vyshyvanka with artists from around the world,” said Lesya Voroniuk, founder of Vyshyvanka Day. “Vyshyvanka is a language of Ukrainian culture. Each stitch tells a story of our history, values, and traditions. It expresses our identity, connects us to our community, and reminds us of our heritage. Love weaves its own unique patterns, transcending cultural boundaries, bringing joy and comfort. Passed down from generation to generation, love is a treasure that enriches our lives and connects us to those we hold dear. Vyshyvanka is a way of expressing our identity and individuality, while also connecting us to our community and ancestors. It is a symbol of strength and resilience, passed down from generation to generation, and a reminder of the beauty and power of our traditions. Vyshyvanka is not just a fashion statement, it is a living legacy, and a treasure of our Ukrainian heritage."

Snippets from the first seminar will be available on our social media this week and subsequent seminars will be held quarterly. The DhunAnand Foundation welcomes interested individuals and organizations to participate in these seminars and help share the spirit of Vyshyvanka with the world.
